Title

Righteousness Is About Others

Scripture
The desire of the righteous is only good, but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
(Proverbs 11:23)
Devotional
Think about your desires, dreams and wants, especially for others. Are they desires for good or wishful expectations of vengeance? Do you have desires to get even or surpass others for the sake of superiority or having an advantage? One is obviously a righteous desire the other wicked. Here is how we can know the difference: righteousness always wishes to take others along the road of success. Wickedness desires success for self alone. Righteousness edifies, wickedness tares-down. Are others included in your dreams of success? Are you quick to applaud their successes and achievements? Is their jealousy when others receive more accolades than you, especially those under your leadership? If so, it is the evidence of a level of wickedness. It must be dealt with or it will eventually bring wrath. Therefore seek the good of others as much if not more so than your own good. Herein is true righteousness and real success.
