Title

God Does Not Give Leftovers

Scripture
If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.
(Genesis 13:9)
Devotional
Abraham was not only a man of the highest integrity; he was a man that explicitly trusted his God. Abraham would not vie for the best land, but gave the choice to his nephew, Lot. Lot’s nature was to want the first choice; Abraham’s was to want God’s choice. The choices made were evident. Lot chose Sodom and Gomorrah; Abraham took what remained, which was Canaan, God’s Promised Land. Abraham knew that God would bless him wherever God sent him. It was not a matter of bartering or striving for the best. It was a matter of trusting and believing for the best. Abraham was not lazy; he did his due diligence to achieve the will of the Lord.

The point of the lesson is simple: if God is for you, no one can choose against you. Another cannot determine God’s blessing in our lives by the direction they choose to take, even if that choice is against us.
