Title

God’s Government

Scripture
The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.
(Psalm 103:19)
Devotional
The government of God must reign in the hearts and lives of His people. Sometimes we act as if God’s laws and precepts are a list of options. We behave as if He does not mind whether we keep them or not. Being a child of the King is all about living in that Kingdom. We are to subject ourselves to its authority. The authority of the Kingdom of God is found in His Word and is directed by His Spirit. The main law of the Kingdom is to do the right that you know to do. Most of us do not need to know more about the ways of God, we just need to do what we do know. My friend Paul Nanney says, “The majority of believers are educated far above their obedience.” When we realize the government of God is there for our benefit and well-being, we will do all that we can to obey the laws of the Kingdom. For we are not only subjects of the King, we are children of the King.
