Title

A Safe Environment

Scripture
So you shall observe My statutes and judgments . . . and you shall dwell in the land in safety.
(Leviticus 25:18)
Devotional
God does not impose His laws in order to place hardships on His creation. His laws are always given for our own good. When there is no law there will eventually be anarchy. When there is anarchy there is no safety. Security is gone and chaos is the norm. Whether in civil government, business, church, or the home, God’s laws must be the standard of conduct. When His ways are removed, the way of destruction is imminent. When we are left to our own devices, failure follows.
A house without order is a house divided and a house divided will fall. Therefore, it is good to impose rules and regulations with regard to the accepted conduct of employees and employers, with leaders and subordinates, with husbands and wives, and with children and parents. These are not to be arbitrary guidelines; they must be the statutes and judgments of God. Do this and dwell in safety.
