Title

Why Bring Trouble Into the House?

Scripture
He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind, and a fool will be servant to the wise of heart.
(Proverbs 11:29)
Devotional
As a strong wind blows the dust, he who fails to take care of his house will have his house destroyed. How does one go about troubling his own house? The answer is by failing to care for his family. If a man will not work, he troubles his house. If a man is unfaithful, he troubles his house. If a man is unteachable, he troubles his house. If a man is lazy, he troubles his house. If a man is unaccountable, he troubles his house. If a man will not minister to his family, he troubles his house. Paul writes to Timothy, “If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” If one is bent on troubling his own house, he is a fool, and will eventually find himself in bondage to another. Maybe it’s time to get out of trouble.
