Title

The Body Needs You

Scripture
Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
(1 Corinthians 12:27)
Devotional
As there are no Lone Rangers in the Kingdom of God, neither are there any insignificant members. As a pastor, I have found that when a portion of the body is missing without cause, the remainder of the body is weakened. That is, when God’s people miss the assembly of the believers out of laziness or indifference, the church service loses ability. When the faithful are in attendance there is an anointing present that is just not there when the attendance is down. The enemy would love for the Church to think that it is intact without the body coming together at least weekly. It is true; you do not have to attend “church” to be a Christian. Nevertheless, the Church loses its influence, favor and potential when you are not there. You have the ability to strengthen or weaken the church. God wants you there. The body needs you there, because you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
Thought For The Night

Remember putting your face above a headless frame painted to represent a muscle man, a clown, or even a bathing beauty? Many of us have had our pictures taken this way, and the photos are humorous because the head doesn't fit the body. If we could picture Christ as the head of our local body of believers, would the world laugh at the misfit? Or would they stand in awe of a human body so closely related to a divine head?”  Dan Bernard, a specialist in biblical studies at the Concordia Institute, Canada
