Title

Knowing Our Source of Strength

Scripture
Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.
(Psalm 52:7)
Devotional
The greatest somebody in the sight of man is nobody under the scrutiny of God. Neither God nor the powers of darkness are impressed with the strength of man. The only impressive man is the man within the man, Christ Jesus. Anyone void of the presence of Christ is weak and vulnerable. That person will fall. If our strength does not come from Christ, we are being strengthened in our own wickedness. When we trust in our own accomplishments, fame, or wealth, we are trusting in our wickedness. If we are not making God our strength, we have no strength. It does not matter if you are a poor man or a rich one; if God is not your strength, you are weak. Thus, we must neither boast in our poverty nor in our riches. For the only thing worse than a rich fool is a poor fool. Boast in Christ.
