Title

Ignorance, Foolishness or Understanding

Scripture
The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds of foolishness.
(Proverbs 15:14)
Devotional
There are people who do not know, and do not know that they do not know; this is ignorance. There are people who do not know and think that they know; this is foolishness. There are people who do not know and know that they do not know; this is understanding. Those with a heart of understanding seek knowledge. The ignorant will remain blissful and the foolish will feed on their folly. The one with understanding knows that he or she has not arrived. They understand that there is a least one thing they do not know about a conflict. They understand that adding a wrong to an equation will never produce a correct answer. The ignorant and foolish on the other hand will attempt the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Ignorance and foolishness come naturally. Each takes little or no effort. Understanding on the other hand requires diligence and a repentant heart. Therefore the beginning of understanding is to understand that you most likely do not have it.
