Title

Watch, Consider, Receive

Scripture
When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction.
(Proverbs 24:32)
Devotional
Do you see the clear, simple instructions of this directive Proverb? He said, “I saw,” “I considered,” and I “received instruction.” He observed the fields of the lazy and those without understanding. He considered their plight and understood the reason for their condition. “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; so shall your poverty come...”(1) We can and should learn from anybody and everybody: from the wise to the simple and from the prudent to the foolish. Look at the fruit of others. Consider their lives and receive instruction. We will inevitably find that success comes from godly diligence and failure from differing forms of laziness. Diligence is found in righteousness, faithfulness and loyalty. Laziness shows itself in mediocrity, apathy, procrastination, indifference and the like.
Therefore, learn from the sage, “I saw,” “I considered,” “I received instruction.”
