Title

Cast a Dark Shadow

Scripture
Take counsel, execute judgment; make your shadow like the night in the middle of the day.
(Isaiah 16:3)
Devotional
We are not to hide from the light of the sun. When we are in the brightness of the day we are to seek godly counsel and accomplish judgment. The light of the day is a metaphor for the presence of the Lord. When the Lord is with you, do your best work. Seek the godliest of counsel and be the fairest in your judgment. If you belong to Christ, then the light of the Son is with you. Your presence should cast the darkest of shadows because you are in that light. The brightest of days make the darkest of shadows. We have a tendency to ignore counsel when we are successful. I am convinced that more success requires more counsel. It does not take much counsel to accomplish small deeds. It takes great counsel to accomplish mighty exploits. Likewise it does not take much counsel to make small judgments. It takes the best counsel to make life-changing judgments. Therefore, cast your shadow in the light of the day.
