Title

There is a Remnant For the Willing

Scripture
Gleaning grapes will be left in it, like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the most fruitful branches.
(Isaiah 17:6)
Devotional
God’s resources and remnant remain. God has always had a ram in the bush, a pearl of great price. The potential for godly success never wanes. Heaven’s assets are not in short supply. The best of what there is remains. The strongest and best fruit is not shaken from the tree. To get the best that remains one has to climb the tree and pick the fruit. Anybody can shake the tree. Anybody can stoop down and pick up that which has fallen. Nevertheless, the best is found in the most fruitful branches. The question is, are we willing to climb and reach out for the best of the fruit? Reaching for the best is much more risky than picking up the mediocre. A few perfect grapes are far better than a cluster of the bruised and tasteless. Let us never forget God has a remnant waiting for the willing.
