Winners Are To Be Valiant

Scripture
Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies.
(Psalm 108:13)
Devotional
There should be none so brave or bold as those who have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. “If God is for us, who can be against us?”(1) Yet we so often cower at the slightest resistance or threat of rejection. How foolish of us to do so when there is to be no doubt that when the final score is tallied, we win. Why would we be embarrassed to share what we believe or give hope to another when we say we believe that God is the victor? The world is not ashamed to propagate its agenda. It boldly advances its cause without fear of its Creator. The things of this world will pass away. The things of God will last for an eternity. Which side do you think should be the most valiant? It is not a matter of whose side we are on; it is a matter of Who is on our side. God has promised, “‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’”(2)

Thought For The Night
“He who would valiant be ‘Ginst all disaster, Let him in constancy Follow the Master. There’s no discouragement shall make him once relent His first avowed intent to be a pilgrim.  Who so beset him round with dismal stories, Do but themselves confound, His strength the more is. No foes shall stay his might though he with giants fight; He will make good his right to be a pilgrim. Since, Lord, Thou dost defend us with Thy Spirit, We know we at the end shall life inherit. Then fancies flee away! I’ll fear not what men say, I’ll labor night and day to be a pilgrim.” John Bunyan, Pilgrim’s Progress.
