Title

Let Us Love Anyway

Scripture
I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.
(2 Corinthians 12:15)
Devotional
Our sinful human nature has a tendency to take good things for granted especially love. It is for this reason that children often are indifferent or even rebellious to their parents. Parents spend and are spent for their children; and oftentimes the more they are loved, the less they love in return. How many times have you seen a young lady drawn to a forward young man? We seem to be drawn to those who love us the least instead of those who love us the most. Nobody loves us more than our Heavenly Father. The more God demonstrated His love toward us the less we loved Him. Therefore, let us learn to love on purpose. That is, let us choose to love God because He first loved us.(1) Likewise, let us not lose heart when love is not returned. Let us gladly spend and be spent. Let us love although the more we love the less we are loved.
