Title

There Is No Lion, Only Lying

Scripture
The lazy man says, “There is a lion in the road! a fierce lion is in the streets.”
(Proverbs 26:13)
Devotional
Laziness will always make excuses. May I share a few of them: “I am too busy.” “I just don’t have the time.” I would, but my wife (husband)... ” “I don’t feel led.” “I tried once.” The list is endless. Mankind is an expert at making excuses for not doing the things he knows he ought to do. We are experts of self-justification, and masters of blame. It is amazing how quick we are to make excuses because of hurt feelings or offenses. We will judge the motives of anyone who attempts to get us out of our comfort zones. By the way, “comfort zone” is just another name for lazy. We must stop making excuses, and start making progress. God has not created us for sleep. He has created us to glorify His name and edify His people. Instead of making excuses, repent. There is no lion in the street; there is only lying in the road of the lazy man.
