Title

As Time Goes By

Scripture
What is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
(James 4:14)
Devotional
With the passing of years comes the increased passage of time. Time to a child seems endless. To children minutes are as hours, hours as days, days as weeks and a week as a lifetime. I am at the time of my life when weeks are as days and days pass by as minutes. We do not have much time on this earth. It does truly pass as a vapor. Therefore, let us do as instructed by the apostle Paul, “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”(1) How do we redeem time, since time cannot be renewed? Time is our greatest commodity. Once it is spent, it cannot be regained. Therefore, the only time that we can redeem is the time we have not spent. To do so is to plan, prepare and implement. Since life is but a vapor, why not enjoy it and make a lot of steam.
