Title

There Was a Time

Scripture
You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?
(Galatians 5:7)
Devotional
What happened to you? There was a time when your relationship to the Lord was the most important thing in your life. You were once a bold witness for Christ. There was absolutely no doubt about your faith. You never missed church. You served, taught a class and were a staunch pillar. You even tithed, and did so joyously. During this time of “running well” you were filled with happiness and contentment. Your life and finances were in order. There was peace in your home. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? When did sin creep in and deceive you? When did you begin flirting with the things of the flesh? When did you first start compromising your faith in Christ? When did you stop running well? Why not change your direction? Why not return to the truth? Why not start running the race again?
Thought For The Night

The Greeks had a race in their Olympic games that was unique. The winner was not the runner who finished first. It was the runner who finished with his torch still lit.” Joseph Stowell, president of Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, “Fan The Flame”
