Knowing How and Where To Go

Scripture
I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.
(Micah 7:7)
Devotional
Do you live your life in this manner and with this confidence? To whom or what do you look when seeking life’s direction? On whom or what do you patiently wait for? When you pray do you pray with the confidence that your God will hear you? To get the latter, we must do the former. It is unwise to be a law unto ourselves and follow the dictates of those who only do what is right in their own eyes and expect God to hear a token prayer. In every situation, the very first place we are to look is toward the Lord God of the scriptures. What does the Manufacturer’s Handbook say? Secondly, we are to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit via the conscience. And, if appropriate and possible, we are to seek godly counsel. The problem arises in that we too seldom look to God, do not know His Word, are too proud to ask, and have violated our consciences so often that we have lost all discernment. Therefore, say with the psalmist, I will look to the Lord; “I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.”
