Title

Do Not Toy With the Devil

Scripture
That serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth and his angels with him.
(Revelation 12:9)
Devotional
How ironic, when I begin to write about Satan, my computer crashes. The devil does not like to be exposed. It is for this reason that he dwells in darkness. Whenever he is brought to the light of the gospel of Christ, he flees. This is how we are to deal with him, through Christ and Christ only. You and I are no match for this prince of darkness. He is not to be toyed with. This battle belongs to the Lord, not us. All we are to do with regard to him is resist him, as James says, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Furthermore, Jude tells us, “Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, ‘The Lord rebuke you.’” We are not to fear the devil; we are simply not to fool with him. Do as Michael and say, “The Lord rebuke you.”
