Title

Jihad

Scripture
Why ? do the ?nations ?rage, And the people plot a ??vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the ?rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His? ?Anointed.
(Psalm 2:1-2)
Devotional
The psalmist answers his own question of why the nations rage. It is a battle, evil against good. The Muslims call it Jihad, a holy war or spiritual struggle. Unfortunately, that is about the only thing they have correct. The raging of the nations is a spiritual conflict. To think otherwise for the believer is naive and foolish. At this writing, the United States is fighting against Muslim terrorists in Afghanistan, and Israel is fighting the Palestinians. There is widespread persecution against Christians in Africa, India and many other parts of the world. Why? The kings of the earth and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed, who is Christ. This is not a battle against Muslims or any other sect of peoples. It is a battle against, "Principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.[2]
