Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain it.

Devotional
How well we receive instruction will determine how well we will prosper. The unteachable are unprofitable. If we disdain guidance and leadership, we will be proven to be the greatest of fools. Instead of disdaining instruction we are to seek it and when we find it embrace it. If someone is willing to give of their understanding and knowledge take it and make it your own. We are not only to receive instruction we are to take ownership of it and pass it on to others. Instruction's only value is obedience. To know and not to do is laziness and sin. James 4:17 is clear, "Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." Likewise to know and not to share is also sin. As there is good instruction, there is poor instruction. We are to heed the good and learn from the bad. Therefore even poor instruction is not to be disdained.
