Title

Satisfying Words

Scripture
A man's stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.
(Proverbs 18:20)
Devotional
What we say has as much, if not more merit than what we do. Without proper communication we will seldom, if ever accomplish anything of significance. Proverbs furthermore instructs: "A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!"[1] There is little more satisfying than speaking the right words at the right time. Knowing what to say and when to say it will satisfy not only your soul, but also the soul of the one to whom you are speaking. A fitting word, a kind word or an encouraging word will fill your heart as well as the hearts of others. Weigh your words and your words will be weighty. Count them and they will count. Learn to edify others and your words will satisfy you. Are your endeavors failing? It may be because of what you are saying.
