Title

Judgments Await Scoffers And Fools

Scripture
Judgments are prepared for scoffers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
(Proverbs 19:29)
Devotional
Those whose purpose in life appears to be finding fault and exposing it, will in due time be judged for their self-centered deeds. Likewise, foolishness will receive its due reward. If you are inclined to these pessimistic acts, simply stop. If you find yourself regularly finding fault and speaking negatively of others, you are on the road to judgments and punishments. This simple proverb is more than a statement of facts; it is a warning to those who are practitioners of scoffing and foolishness. Examine your conversations. Are your words constructive or destructive, complementary or insulting, edifying or defaming? Scoffers and fools are the fruit of pride and arrogance—the causes wars and fights. This foolishness has little or nothing to do with intelligence, but everything to do with character and godliness. Some of the most learned prove to be the greatest scoffers and fools. Do not fall into their self-perceived elitism.
