Title

I Must Focus On My Part

Scripture
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
(Proverbs 31:23)
Devotional
Is this virtuous woman's husband known and respected as a result of her faithfulness? Is it a blessing of God, or is it because she in her diligence frees him to pursue his calling? It has to be all the above. When there is harmony in the home, there is success in the marketplace and in ministry. In a marriage, each spouse has a roll and a part to play. When each does their part, there is success in that marriage. This success spills over to every realm of life: Children are honorable, business prospers and ministries flourish. One will cause the other. If I diligently do my part in my marriage, my wife will be more apt do hers. Likewise a wife who is diligent in the home will be as apt to have a husband who is successful in his calling. It takes both, but most often begins with one. Therefore let us examine our marriages, by examining ourselves without judging our spouses.
