Title

Smile At The Future

Scripture
Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come.
(Proverbs 31:25)
Devotional
Security is not based on things, but character. Because this virtuous woman did not trust in the fruit of her labor, but the abilities God had given her, she was able to smile at the future. Fear is the anticipation of things to come. She rejoiced, anticipating the things to come. She was not secure because her husband was known in the gates or because of the success of her dealings. She was secure in the Lord her God. Without doubt she knew, "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."[1] When God calls us to a task, He equips us for that task. All the strength you need is available to you to fulfill God's calling in your life. In this you are to rejoice now and in time to come. When we realize and believe Christ at His word, fear will leave and security will rise. I love the words of David to his son Solomon, "He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished."[2]
