Title

Knowing With The Mind

Scripture
I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.
(Acts 24:16)
Devotional
The conscience reflects a self-awareness in the moral sphere of our thinking and reasoning. A clear conscience is found in obtaining the mind of Christ. "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus."[1] When we think on the things of God our consciences will never violate our faith. Herein is the key to a clear conscience, not violating our faith. The bible is clear, "Whatever is not from faith is sin."[2] To have a conscience without offense toward God and man is to have a mind that does not condemn itself by forsaking its faith in God. The conscience is the barometer of our wellbeing. It is the alarm of the soul. However, if continuously ignored it will fail to warn and guide. The conscience can be seared. Therefore, listen to your conscience. Heed its warnings. If you have destroyed it through neglect and abuse, restore it with prayer and the Word of God.
