Title

The Certainty of The Words of Truth

Scripture
Have I not written to you excellent things of counsels and knowledge, that I may make you know the certainty of the words of truth, that you may answer words of truth to those who send to you?
(Proverbs 22:20-21)
Devotional
Consider the phrase, "The certainty of the words of truth." We live in a time of uncertainty. Few things are as they appear. We are not able to believe our eyes let alone the testimonies of another witness. When there is to be no doubt, someone is able to cast doubt. When the evidence is overwhelming in a court of law, the manipulators of truth are able to cast a shadow of uncertainty on that truth. Manipulated truth is as much of a falsehood as any lie. Whenever we attempt to deceive by telling the truth we have made the truth a lie. The certainty of words of truth can stand-alone. They need little or no qualification. They mean what they say and say what they mean. They are for the most part few in number and simple in context. May we always endeavor to be people of honest words of truth; because "No lie is of the truth."[1]
