Title

No One Like The Stingy

Scripture
Do not eat the bread of a miser… For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.
(Proverbs 23:6-8)
Devotional
Selfish people always deal with an evil intent. There is always a motive of greed behind their seemingly good will. They are takers and takers are always after something to take. Misers never give; at best they trade, and their trades will always attempt to be to their advantage. What they offer is not what it may appear to be. It may sound good, look good and convincingly give the impression of being very inviting. However it is deceptive. The only thing worse than dealing with a miser is being one. If you find yourself dealing with a deceitful heart attitude, know that you are eventually going to be known as repulsive to both God and man. Turn from such wickedness by giving without expecting anything in return. Even better, give and refuse to take anything in return. No one likes a stingy man, and if he can be honest, he does not even like himself.
