Title

We Will Stand Alone

Scripture
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
(Romans 14:12)
Devotional
Jesus said, "For every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."[1] Do you find yourself making excuses for your sin? When things go awry, do you blame others? None of us will stand before God and successfully be able to blame others for our choice to sin. Little children may be the exception.[2] We will not be able to blame things or people when we stand before the judgment seat of Christ, so we might as well stop blaming them now. We may serve the Lord together in this life, but we will stand before Him alone in the next. As Adam was not able to blame Eve for His sin, we will not be able to blame our spouses or anybody else for ours. Instead of finding fault, let us confess our sins. Instead of placing blame, let us seek repentance.
