Title

Be "The Name" Dropper

Scripture
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God.
(2 Timothy 1:8)
Devotional
Have you ever noticed when people know or have met someone of fame or importance, they are quick to be "name droppers?" I'm sure that it is for the most part done to impress others. If there is anyone who ought to be a "Name dropper" it should be Christians. We know personally, the Creator of the universe. We not only know Him, He knows us better than anyone else has ever known us. But we are often slow to mention His name in fear of being rejected or thought to be over religious. In a word, we're ashamed—how sad, how pitiful of us. Even if rejected by man, even if thought of as unimpressive, we ought to rather impress heaven than man. We ought to rather be willing to suffer rejection than to be ashamed of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”[1]
