Title

The Joy of Accomplishment

Scripture
A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, but it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.
(Proverbs 13:19)
Devotional
Isn't it the truth? Isn't it great when you accomplish an endeavor or a long awaited task? I love to finish projects. I enjoy painting and the last stroke is better than the first. Like the last peace of a puzzle, a desire accomplished is sweet to the soul. It is evil on the other hand not to accomplish the tasks of life before us. It is evil to be lazy, slothful or complacent in life's endeavors. Those who practice these non-endeavors never experience the sweetness of accomplishment. They habitually leave tasks unfinished. Their work is always partial. Their workbench is undone and their tools unsightly. Accomplishers are orderly, neat and prompt. Unfinished tasks seldom reach the back burner. They weigh, measure and prioritize. The task as well as the desire accomplished is sweet. Yet it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil. Which are you?
