Title

Laziness Is Sneaky

Scripture
The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man's precious possession.
(Proverbs 12:27)
Devotional
The Word of God has an explicit way of defining the lazy. Here he or she is too lazy to even cook their food. It is so very obvious that God has little regard for laziness. At least in the Proverbs, it appears to be a sin that is dealt with profusely. Laziness is a trait for which we should regularly examine ourselves. It can come upon us so readily. Proverbs also says it this way, "A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep—so shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.”[1] The proverb says, “A little sleep.” It does not take much to fall into laziness. Like exercise it takes a long time to build oneself up and so little time to loose that which has been built. Demolition is always more rapid than construction. Beware of that sloth, laziness. It can sneak up on you quickly.
