Title

People of Vision

Scripture
The law is no more, and her prophets find no vision from the LORD.
(Lamentations 2:9)
Devotional
Here we find the demise of many people. When the laws of God deteriorate, the people fall into anarchy. We see this lawless confusion in those who oppose capital punishment for criminals deserving of death, but advocate aborting unborn children. Man’s laws can be amended, and many should; however the moral laws of God are unchangeable. The blame is not to be solely on the shoulders of the anarchists, but the Church is of greater blame.
We must be people of vision. We must find and know God’s will for His Church and fulfill that will. We must be about setting goals and having dreams. We must, furthermore, pursue them by faith in Christ, believing God for miracles along the way.
Let us not cast off the moral laws of God; let us embrace God’s prophetic vision. “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”(1)

Thought For The Day
Vision is the ability to understand the history, the present condition, and the potential of the church, and to conceive a plan for action that will maximize the ministry potential. More often than not, vision is a result of having spent much time absorbing the facts about the community, knowing the resources upon which the church can call (people, funding, facilities, equipment, etc.), and devising sound but creative strategies for moving forward. Vision always entails progress: it is never satisfied with the status quo.  George Barna, president of the Barna Research Group, How to Find Your Church
