Title

I Trust God, I Will Not Flee

Scripture
In the Lord I put my trust; how can you say to my soul, flee as a bird to your mountain?
(Psalm 11:1)
Devotional
It has been said that bravery is the ability to run when you want to fight, or fight when you want to run, and having the wisdom to know when to do each. When we put our trust in the Lord, the fear of man wanes. We can say with the psalmist, “In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”(1) If you find yourself filled with fear and anxiety you can be assured that it is not of God. The apostle Paul instructs Timothy, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”(2) Do not allow people to intimidate you. You belong to Christ. What can man do to you? Stand firm on the foundation Christ has built. Hold on to His multiplied promises. Remind yourself in whom you trust. When you are badgered to run, simply say, “How can you say to my soul, ‘flee’?” I am Christ’s, and He is mine. In the Lord I put my trust.
