Title

Does Your Day Call For Sunshine?

Scripture
The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
(Proverbs 4:18)
Devotional
Jesus said of the just, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”(1) The analogy of our text is that we, believers, are to increase in our faith as the sun rises in the morning and reaches the brightness of the day. We are in essence to go, “From faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’”(2)
There is no maturing without increasing faith. The faith we had in yesterday’s troubles may not be sufficient for tomorrow’s woes. It does not take as much faith to believe in Christ as it does to obey Him. Consider Abraham.
Has your faith increased since you first believed? Or, are you living with the same measure? Like a physical muscle, unless faith is exercised we will spiritually atrophy. How can we know? We can only know by the brightness of our days.
