Title

The Signs of the Times

Scripture
And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and hate one another.
(Matthew 24:10)
Devotional
We live in a very thin-skinned and hard-hearted generation. We have become so easily offended. Political correctness dominates our government, our society, our workplace, our schools, and even some of our churches. Tolerance has priority over righteousness. There is no right or wrong. Parents hate their children and children hate their parents. Arguments and feuds are the norm in homes, at work and in our churches. We have hate crimes and road rage, Black Panthers and the Ku Klux Klan. We have ethnic cleansing and religious jihads. Republicans hate democrats and liberals hate conservatives. And the list goes on.

Instead of being thin-skinned and hard-hearted, we need to become tenderhearted and thick-skinned. We may not easily be able to change the world, but we surely can change ourselves, and that is the best way to change the world.

Lighten up! Do not take yourself so seriously. Take the things of God very seriously and you will be less apt to be offensive or offended.
