Title

Be the Influencer

Scripture
To show partiality is not good, because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.
(Proverbs 28:21)
Devotional
Favoritism for the sake of gain is a dangerous game. James says, “If you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to the poor man ‘you stand there’, have you not shown partiality and become judges with evil thoughts?” The message is simple. It is not that we should show less attention to those we deem influential, it is that we should not judge whom it is that God may be using. Proverbs says, “One man pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.” Even if you are correct in your judgment with regard to the influence of certain people, our text says that they will sale-you-out for what the poor man already has, a piece of bread. Instead of looking for the influencer for personal gain, you be the influencer for the gain of others.

Thought For The Day
“My life shall touch a dozen lives before this day is done; leave countless marks for good or ill, ere sets the evening sun. This is the wish I always wish, the prayer I always pray: Lord, may my life help other lives it touches by the way.” Unknown
