Title

Sin Judges

Scripture
“According to your ways and according to your deeds they shall judge you,” says the Lord God.
(Ezekiel 24:14)
Devotional
Our own actions and deeds judge us. Our sins are and will be evident. They are evident through the clarity of the scriptures and by the conviction of the conscience. Once a sin is brought to light in us, that sin will judge us. We do not have to judge each other; we do not even have to judge ourselves. Our sins will judge us themselves. And as Moses said in the book of Numbers, “And be sure your sin will find you out.”(1)
Are you riddled with guilt? If so, rid yourself of your sin and you will rid yourself of your guilt. This is the purpose of the Law of God, to reveal our sins to us. The law does not deliver us from sin, it simply reveals it. Christ on the other hand delivers and cleanses us from all sin. He is the Deliverer. And, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”(2)

Defining:  “Judgment”: The revelation of that which violates the ways of God for His creation, the illumination of guilt and that which is in need of forgiveness.

Referencing: “The Lord will judge His people and have compassion on His servants,” Deuteronomy 32:36.

Applying: Do not think that your sin is an acceptation to the rule of God’s law. It is not. Be ready and willing to repent of any sin that may be revealed to you this day. Remember, according to your deeds and ways, God will judge you.
