Title

Rise and Shine

Scripture
No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.
(Luke 8:16)
Devotional
Do others know what you believe? Do they know about your faith, your hopes, and your desires? Why is it that we so often dim the lights of our lives? Why do we want to hide the very things that give us hope and life? Jesus furthermore said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”(1)  We are not to hide our good works in the dark. They are to be seen. If you believe in what you do, do your best to make sure that others see it. The only reason we would hide our works is if we are either ashamed of how we work or of what we do.  One of the best ways to let your light shine is through the lamp of accountability. That is, purposefully expose your doings. Give reports and bring to the light your works. Get out from under the bed. Get out and shine as brightly as you can.
