Devotional
The apostle Paul said to young Timothy, “I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”(1) 2 Chronicles says, “When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers and their apparel, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her.”(2) You and I are children of the King, therefore we are royalty. There is to be a dignity about us, not snobbishness; a humility and graciousness that reflects our King. We are King’s Kids. There is to be a behavior that reflects our status with the Creator of the universe. There has been a Book written for just that purpose. It is called the Word of the Lord, the Bible. It is the believer’s Book of Etiquette.
