Praise and Worship Is Good

Scripture
So they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.
(2 Chronicles 29:30)
Devotional
Good king Hezekiah’s predecessor Ahaz was a scoundrel who encouraged moral decline, and was continually unfaithful to the Lord. What does your life portray? Are you an encourager of good or evil? Does your life cause others to decline morally or seek after righteousness? Ahaz was not only morally bankrupt; he was religiously perverted. His moral decline, like all moral decline, took him further than he wanted to go; cost him more than he was willing to pay; and kept him longer than he wanted to stay. His unfaithfulness not only caused him to turn his back on God, it drove him to extreme perversion. Instead of worshipping God he sacrificed his family to false gods. Hezekiah on the other hand was a worshipper of the most high God. He openly praised the Lord, and encouraged the people to do likewise. Therefore, God exalted him and called him good.
