Title

What God Does Not Endure

Scripture
“The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, him I will not endure.”
(Psalm 101:5)
Devotional
The rolling of the eyes, the scornful shaking of the head, and the curling of the lips express the attitude of the heart. These gestures define what our text calls “a haughty look”. God frowns upon such condescending gestures and disdainful attitudes. They are responses that stem from pride and arrogance. For the most part, people who exhibit them add insult to their actions by denying they display such mannerisms.
It is easier to shrug the shoulders than to seek a solution. It takes less effort to roll the eyes than to listen. And shaking the head is easier than thinking. These mannerisms are the fruit of a sinful lazy disposition. Therefore, the next time you find yourself displaying a cocky attitude, remember: just as you are not enduring another, God is not enduring you.
