Title

Lies Are a Bad Compromise

Scripture
If a ruler pays attention to lies, all his servants become wicked.
(Proverbs 29:12)
Devotional
From false advertising to political jargon, if given attention, a leader will be doing nothing but chasing the wind. There is a basis for truth; it is God’s Word. Anything that is contrary to it is a lie. No matter how sound an argument may appear, if it is obstinate toward the truths of the Word of God it is a lie. And if we pay attention to it, those that we lead will fall into confusion and eventually lapse into wickedness. We see it everywhere in our culture. When we begin to compromise God’s Word, we do so because we have paid attention to lies. Compromise is never satisfied; the more we do it the more it demands. And compromise will always lead to wickedness. It is inevitable. God and His Word have not changed. What was sin yesterday is sin today. If we compromise it for any sake, we compromise our integrity and question the integrity of God. The end will always be wickedness.
