Title

We Fall Down; We Get Up

Scripture
They fell down, and there was none to help. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.
(Psalm 107:12-13)
Devotional
We fall down; we get up. This is the testimony of the beloved. We do not get up in our own strength. To do so is to but stagger and immediately fall again. We get up in the strength of the Lord. As we have often quoted the prophet Zechariah, “’Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.”(1)

Yesterday, I watched several leaders that I love fall down. They fell, “Because they rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the Most High.”(2) My heart is broken; my soul cast down. My prayer is that they would cry out to the Lord in this time of trouble and that He would save them out of their distress. “Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!”(3)

Whether you have been knocked down by your own sin or the sin of others, cry out to the Lord. He will save you from your distress.
