Title

Watch Out For “Feel Good” Prophecy

Scripture
Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.
(Isaiah 30:10)
Devotional
We have become a people more interested in making people feel good about themselves rather than telling the truth. We applaud mediocrity and award whiners instead of winners. . We no longer seek counsel; we seek agreement. If what we hear does not make us feel better about ourselves, we judge what we hear as wrong. We would rather be told a lie that makes us feel good than the truth that can change our lives. We would rather have a politically correct preacher than a Biblically correct one. It is time for God’s people to grow up and seek the truth even if the truth hurts our ego. The truth only hurts if what we are doing is wrong. The truth never hurts a truth keeper. We are not to be ill mannered or merciless, but we must be willing to hear and tell the truth graciously. Therefore, prophesy right things, prophesy honestly.
