Title

Believe the Promise

Scripture
Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
(Galatians 3:6)
Devotional
Abraham is the father of promise. He received salvation the same way you and I have, through the finished work of the cross of Calvary. Abraham looked forward to the cross as we look back to it. Faith in Christ saved him as faith in Christ saves us. He believed and was counted righteous. We believe and are counted righteous. In the sixteenth chapter of Acts, the Philippians jailer asked Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.’”(1) They did not say you must first go to church, be baptized and tithe. They simply said, “Believe”. He did and Christ saved him and his household. How about you, have you believed in Christ with the same faith of Abraham and the Philippians jailer? If not, why not do so? It will be accounted to you for righteousness.
