Title

Sin Transgresses the Laws of God

Scripture
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases; but the righteous will see their fall.
(Proverbs 29:16)
Devotional
We live in an age of multiplied transgressions. Transgression is an excellent word to describe sin. Sin is a direct violation of the laws of God. And when we violate those laws, transgression multiplies. Sin is regressive; it takes you from an apparently harmless state of transgression to a lower state. Transgressing the laws of God will inevitably take you further than you wish to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, cost you more than you are willing to pay, and negatively impact others more than you could possibly imagine. If you are righteous, that is a keeper of the laws of God, then you will see the destruction of those transgressions. If you are increasing in your transgressions, you will see your own fall. The key is to turn from anything that is a violation of God’s laws. It begins by doing the right that you know to do and doing it in spite of your emotions, lusts and pride. For why should you fall?
