Title

The Transition

Scripture
In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
(Hebrews 8:13)
Devotional
We must continually transition from the law to grace, from bondage to liberty and from the old to the new. The old covenant was to be kept by our doings; the new is completed and done by Christ. The new covenant is a grace issue. So we ask, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? ...Therefore...we . . . should walk in newness of life.”(1) Grace is the transitioning authority of God that empowers us to be conformed to the likeness of His Son. It takes us from something we do to someone we are. Therefore, is the curse of the law transforming into the blessing of Abraham in your life? (2) To remain under the law is to be governed by pride and controlled by guilt. Our old ways must become obsolete and vanish away that Christ may become all in all in us.
