Title

Sin Is To Be Repulsive

Scripture
Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations.
(Ezekiel 36:31)
Devotional
We must get to a point in our lives where we despise our own sin. There must come a time when it is repulsive to us. If we do not learn to despise it, we will likely embrace it. Here is what happens: if we continue to embrace our sins, we will despise ourselves. If we reject our sin we will accept ourselves. Doing so is not egotistical; it is godly.
Instead of hiding our sin, we are to expose it, deal with it and rid it from our lives. Hidden sin ferments, eventually poisoning every aspect of our being. The more we deal with our own sin, the better we will deal with life. We will be less critical and more understanding, less judgmental and more forgiving.
If we fail to despise our own sin, we will find ourselves despising life and people in particular. Therefore, remember your evil ways and turn from them. Deal with the sin in your life before your sin deals you out of life.
