Why do we have an abundance of so called "Hate crimes" in our society? Why such a high rate of divorce? Why has our love grown cold? Jesus answers the question in a word, and that word is "Lawlessness." We have no restraints, no boundaries to guide us. Proverbs says, "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law."[9] Lawlessness is protected by law in our land. Things that God calls abhorrent are lawful and promoted: abortion, homosexuality and all forms of lasciviousness. The apostle Paul instructs Timothy clearly with regard to the law, "The law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers...for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.”[1]
