Saving or Investing

Scripture
"And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability.",
(Matthew 25:15)
Devotional
God has given each of us a measure of abilities, talents and gifts. How we use them will determine whether or not we will receive an increase in those measures. The key to the parable of the talents is that the faithful stewards invested their measure and the unfaithful saved his. For this reason, I personally do not believe in savings. I do not find it mentioned in the scriptures nor do see it taught. I do see investing being clearly taught. The steward who merely saved his talent was called a wicked lazy servant. What he had was taken from him and given to the one who had the greatest return on his investment. Therefore, are you investing your measure; or are you saving it for a rainy day? Learn to see your life as an investment. Invest your time, talents and abilities in that which will give your Lord the greatest return on His investment in you.
